I believe everyone goes through stress, everyone has tough times. But how do you handle it? How do you survive those tough days? What makes you feel good and energized? Do you have a vice? Maybe several? Boy, do I have many, but today I am going to chat you up about my love and passion for dancing!
Dancing has been a part of my life since I was a child. I took jazz, ballet. and hip hop, was in every talent show at school, and also was in the play Annie (as Annie). You could say I have always had a bit of a flare for the dramatic and show-biz type of activity. My family used to be victim to my many at-home shows :).
As I have gotten older, dancing has remained a vice for me. I was never the party person, but I would spend the beginning of the night to end, dancing my booty off! I danced no matter who was watching, and I always contributed that to the care-free way I was raised by my grandmother. To clarify, I did not always dance with skill or elegance, half of the fun in dancing is being silly and making things up… Even if it makes you look like an arse and has everyone laughing.
Today, I don’t always have the time or energy to go out dancing, and I certainly am not eighteen anymore. However, I can tell you I still will dance when the opportunity arises. I will dance at parties or weddings, while cleaning, or just for fun to burn some negative energy and replace it with endorphins and happy feelings from music and movement.
Everyone needs a vice. What is yours?
Simply,
Miss Shay
